The song Corpsebog was originally recorded for Graatt Paa Sort, one of our upcoming full-lengths. We felt the song had great merit in it's own right, so when the decision was made later to release a single between full-lengths, the choice was easy.

Now, I am a sucker for B-sides, and felt the song should have a companion. But there were no easy candidates in the back-catalogue, so we had to make something new. The process of creating a B-side first led to one song created quickly one night, and another song created even faster the following night. Both were recorded at record-speed, and sent off to the smithy to be mixed together.

The first track, Noxious Necromancy, is a natural continuation of our previous blackthrash work. Guest vocalist Krizla (the man behind the solo synth endeavour Alwanzatar, and flutist in the prog ensemble Tusmørke) delivers an unorthodox vocal performance within the genre, which stands as a fresh contrast to the more typical growls I laid on the other tracks.

Corpsebog II is similar to the original. Faster drums, higher tempo, slightly more mature riffs compared to the debut. One of few songs in the catalogue I haven't written! Guitarists Leviathan and Nebel created a great track (in my opinion), a fantastic addition to the tracklist. Both of them also contribute leads at the end of the song, giving it a sort of oldschool heavy-metal feel.

Finally, a no-nonsense homage to Darkthrone. We didn't take many liberties, but I didn't really want to either. It simply is Kvesta playing a Darkthrone-song, nothing more or less.

A couple of quick guest recordings later, everything was sent abroad to be mixed and mastered. A single suddenly became an EP, and this is the finished product you're looking at right now.
